JAAI Award

Xavier’s College Alumni Association of Burdwan has been awarded prestigiously with the Supporting Spirit Award at the 9^th JAAI National Congress held from 17^th – 19^th January 2020 at Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. XCAAB has established itself as a prime organization for conducting events and projects based on different motives while keeping the main objective the same that is through the upliftment of the society by helping towards the deprived section of human mankind. The biggest initiative was taken up by the Alumni Association till date is the event called “SPINE: Know How to Care It” held on 09^th February 2019 which saw a huge number of attendees. More than 300 patients came and got their check-up done by one of the most noted physicians and surgeons of the state of West Bengal. XCAAB, during that time, was only a year old and it was quite a difficult task for such a young association to carry out this project. The members, as always were high spirited and well determined to make the event a successful one and ultimately their dedication resulted in a triumph. The members were spellbound to know that their dedication has been nationally recognized by the Jesuit Alumni Association of India (JAAI)) and they have awarded us under such a benevolent category in the congress. The nomination for the award was filed without any expectation and thus jury at JAAI Congress must have felt that a novice alumni body is also capable of arranging, conducting and completing a project that touched the lives of so many commoners.
